2020 Scholarship awarded

The Greensburg Garden Center is pleased to announce this year’s recipient of the Katherine M. McKenna Scholarship.

The scholarship in the amount of $1,500 was
awarded to Gabrielle Kriley of Rural Valley which is in Armstrong County PA.

She is the daughter of Sandra and William Kriley.

Gabrielle is pursuing a degree in Agriculture and Extension Education at Penn State University. She was on the Dean’s list twice while attending classes at the New Kensington campus of
PSU. This fall she will be transferring to PSU’s main campus to complete her schooling.
As a student Gabrielle has been involved in many volunteer opportunities in our region. She’s been active
with the 4-H club for 12 years, served as Chapter 63 FFA president at Lenape Technical School, held numerous officer positions as a college freshman, and acted as counselor at popular educational camps for area youth the past three years.

Gabrielle has been working toward her goal of becoming an educator of agriculture in a high school setting.
Her background in the agricultural setting and her participation in so many learning opportunities will serve
her well. Her strong desire to share her knowledge with others makes one great leader as a future teacher.
Congratulations, Gabrielle!
